Lord Guru's Vimochan at Thiruvalithayam

In this post, we will see the story of Lord Guru.

Lord Guru is one of the gods named "Navagraha". He was once consumed by greed and lust towards his Brother's Bride "Menaka". As she is one of the most beautiful women in "Inthralogam". In one instance, He expressed his feelings towards her. Menaka was one of the respected women who did not accept his feelings and cursed him to be a wanderer on the planet Earth. He was suffering miserably as a peasant. On visiting Markendeya, He suggested Lord Guru to visit Thiruvalithayam.

    After reaching Thiruvalithayam., He prayed continuously and meditated. On seeing the penance, Lord Shiva appeared and relived his sins. He got a dip in the pond and worshipped lord Shiva. 

    This Temple is a powerful temple for Lord Guru. People often come here to get remedy from Lord Guru.
